Malaysia Pavilion breaks ground

Construction began on Friday on the Malaysia Pavilion for the 2010 World Expo.

The two-story pavilion will cover an area of 3,000 square meters, which will have an indoor golf area and a lucky draws area. It would be like a traditional and high Malaysian hut.

A combination of palm oil and plastic will be used to the fa?ade of the pavilion. It can be recycled for other constructions after 2010 Expo.

Malaysia Pavilion will focus on social harmony. Visitors can see Malaysia’s natural landscape and the solidarity of its different ethnic groups.

There are 47 ethnic groups distributed in urban and rural areas of Malaysia. The pavilion will emphasize the harmonious conditions and interactivity between the 47 ethnic groups.

During the 2010 Expo, several lucky draws will be held on some special days, such as, August 31, Malaysia's national day, and May 31 when China and Malaysia set up diplomatic relationships.
