
Chinese economy will benefit from 2010 World Expo
CPA Australia released a special research on the public figure of finance, accounting and commerce, which said Chinese economy would benefit a lot from the upcoming 2010 World Expo. The Event is expected to increase the GDP of the next year, and stimulate the direct investing in China.
The survey shows that almost all of the interviewees agreed that Shanghai would host the 2010 World Expo successfully. They believed that there would be more than 70 million people to visit the event, which could break the record of the most visitors set in the Osaka World Expo in 1970. And the majority of the interviewees agreed that the Shanghai World Expo will provide a favorable impact on the Chinese economy.
Liu Qiliang, president of Shanghai Branch of CPA Australia, said that the tourism, exhibition and other industries would get the maximum gain from the event with a short-term-point, while the huge investment in urban infrastructure construction would generate more economic benefits in the future.
Mr. Liu pointed out that the 2010 Shanghai Expo was a platform to understand China’s policies for those multinational corporations who were paying more and more attention to China. The event was hoped to boost their confidence and stimulate the investment. In addition, following with the investment, more and more specialists would gather in Shanghai, which could boost the real estate market.
Environment issues were also involved in the survey. The Expo will greatly enhance the understanding of environmental protection for the public and businessmen. According to the statistics, traffic jam is the biggest obstacles of 2010 Shanghai Expo. Many interviewees suggested that it would be necessary and important to implement more effective traffic management measures.
