Expo Shanghai Online begins its test run in next New Year's Day

Yesterday afternoon, Zhu Yonglei, Deputy Director of Shanghai World Expo Bureau, exchanged his opinion of Shanghai World Expo with 60 Chinese and foreign journalists in Beijing.

Zhu believed that there were three aspects of Shanghai World Expo with the “Better City, Better Life” as its theme: look at the culture, look at the science and technology, and look at the development.

241 countries and international organizations have confirmed to participate in Shanghai World Expo up to now. There have been more than 7.5 million Expo tickets having been sold so far.

Zhu said that The Urban Best Practices Area and Expo Shanghai Online, which are two innovations in World Expo history, were promoting actively.

Expo Shanghai Online was expected to begin its test run in next New Year’s Day, and start up in the opening ceremony of 2010 Shanghai World Expo in May 1, 2010. Web users all over the world may experience the splendor of the Expo through Expo Shanghai Online.

Journalists and information officers from the United States, Germany, France, Japan and other countries, journalists from Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan regions as well as some upcountry journalists attended the press conference.
