Shanghai plans to set designated medical institutions for 2010 Expo

It is reported that Shanghai has planned to set designated medical institutions to provide medical care services during 2010 World Expo, and designated medical stations would also be set up on Expo Site.

 

There are five hospitals included in the list of designated medical institutions for 2010 Expo, including Shanghai Ruijin Hospital, Shanghai Renji Hospital, Shanghai Ninth People’s Hospital, Shanghai Shuguang Hospital and Shanghai East Hospital.

 

These five hospitals will be responsible for the establishment of medical stations on the Expo Site.

 

Yuan Kejian, vice president of Shanghai Ruijin Hospital, said that Expo-designated medical institutions would set up a green channel, open up special wards and form a special emergency team by mobilizing medical technology, management, logistics, physical security and other forces.

 

Yuan also expressed that Shanghai Ruijin Hospital would send 12 health care workers to support the Expo Site divided into three group to ensure a uninterrupted medical services in turn. There would be one physician, one surgeon and two nurses for each group with appropriate medical equipment and medicines.

 

In addition, the linkage between medical institutions and medical stations has also been incorporated into the plan. Related departments are working at the most efficient transport routes.

 

Shanghai Ruijin Hospital launched a large-scale first-aid knowledge training aiming at the police officers. Two hundred police learned about the basic first-aid knowledge by pressing dummy under the professional medical personnel’s guidance.

 

Lu Yiming, director of the emergency department of Shanghai Ruijin Hospital, said that the training will be carried out during police officers and security guards successively.
