Pudong Airport saves passenger’s walking time by electric car

Administration of Shanghai Pudong Airport held a launch ceremony for commissioning of the first batch of electric cars at the Terminal 2 on 16th.

 

The act aims to solve the passenger’s “the Long Walk” problem so as to provide a more personalized service during the Shanghai World Expo.

 

The six electric cars will work from 7:00 to 22:00. Passengers from Pudong Airport “Love Channel” (the aged above 70 years old, pregnant women, the handicapped and other special passengers) could take a free ride. Ordinary passengers should pay ten Yuan per time.

 

The operation of these cars will be an effective solution to the long working time for passengers’ moving around T2.

 

To ensure a safe, high-quality, and efficient service, Pudong Airport selected 18 candidates as the car attendants from 1600 college graduates through an open recruitment.

 

All the attendants have been familiar with the safe driving techniques, World Expo knowledge, service etiquette, window service skills and basic bilingual services for passengers.

 

Hu Zhihong, deputy manager of Shanghai International Airport Co., Ltd., said that Pudong Airport would expand the car service scope gradually after solicit the opinions of airlines and passengers.

 

It is estimated that the service scope would extend to International Arrival and Boarding Concourse, Airport Bus, Airport Station of Maglev Train since January 1 next year. Passengers can call for car services by then.
