Exhibition of Shanghai World Expo intellectual property protection opened

At the 5^th anniversary of the “Regulations on the Protection of World Expo logo” implementation, a ten-day-long Shanghai World Expo intellectual property protection exhibition is held in Shanghai. And this display is jointly organized by Shanghai World Expo Coordination Bureau, Shanghai Industry and Commerce Administration and the Shanghai Intellectual Property Office.

The exhibition fully demonstrated the unremitting efforts of Chinese government and Shanghai World Expo organizers on strengthening intellectual property protection and implementing the ‘Regulations on Protection of World Expo logos” and displayed the positive results achieved by the entire society. At the same time, the exhibition further promotes the entire society to concern the Expo intellectual property protection.

On December 1, 2004, “Regulations on the Protection of World Expo logo” is formally implemented, and this is the first specific legislation for World Expo logo in the 150 years history of World Expo. And the legislation fully proves the Chinese government’s strong determination to fulfill international commitments of protecting intellectual property rights of World Expo.

Practice has proved that, “Regulations on the Protection of World Expo logo” plays a very important role in curbing violations, maintaining the Expo organization’s intellectual property rights, ensuring Expo marketing plan smooth going and so on.
