Swedish mittens convey the support for Sweden Pavilion
Operators of Sweden Pavilion recently received hundreds of mittens knitted by Swedes. And these mittens will wave goodbye to visitors when they leave the pavilion.
Sweden Pavilion’s staff sent out the “Knit for Sweden” invitation in December last year, and in response to the invitation, Swedes showed their support and enthusiasm for the pavilion by sending their mittens.
Many contributors also wrote their feeling and creativity during knitting mittens. 70-year old Margareta Semborn wrote “After knowing the theme and exhibition of Sweden Pavilion, I remember my childhood in Norrland – snow, chill, northern lights and long nights, so I knitted mitten in three colors: dark blue, pink and white. The dark blue looks like the northern sky in winter and pink and white are the colors of the northern lights”
