Eritrea celebrates pavilion day
Eritrea celebrated its National Pavilion Day this morning with splendid performances at the Wolrd Expo Center, showcasing its people's love of nature and pursuit of world peace.
Ma En'han, China's deputy commissioner general for 2010 World Expo, said China has always attached great importance to the friendly cooperation between the two nations since a diplomatic relationship was established in 1993.
Eritrea's Minister of Tourism, Askalu Menkerios, expressed gratitude for the organizers' support.
The scenic nation on the Red Sea will celebrate with ordinary Chinese who were born on May 25. They will join in an evening party featuring folk artists and food from the northeast African nation.
The Eritrea display is inside the Africa Joint Pavilion in Zone C.
The pavilion theme is "Philosophy and Development of Urbanization" in Eritrea, a former Italian colony that is overwhelmingly rural.
The exhibition features scenes of daily life in the capital of Asmara, which means "city of balance."
The exhibition showcases stunning landscape - sea coast, mountains, fertile land and desert - and diverse culture of many ethnic groups.
